Grocery Circular Highlights

So the Hub informed me this week that Safeway has vowed to lower everyday prices on things, and that he actually noticed when he was in the store - things seemed more reasonable. Anyone else noticing a difference? (The ad they sent out with examples seems to indicate they are coming in to line with King Soopers prices on some staple items - some "new" prices still seem high to me...) Do tell - I am uber curious!

Safeway:
$0.88 - lb Pork Shoulder Blade Roasts
$1.69 - lb Beef Chuck Pot Roast
$0.99 - Luccerne Shredded or Chunk Cheeses (limit 3) See here for great info on freezing extra cheese (it's a great price, folks!)
$0.39 - lb Bananas
$1.99 - lb - b/s Chicken Tenders (It isn't as good as SF Market, but if you aren't heading there for anything else, this would get you through, not sure I would stock up at this price after the prices we have been seeing though)
Store Brand Milk = $1.99 a gallon this week at Safeway

Albertsons:
Keeps on Keepin' on with the "New Look" celebration for the 323 S. Broadway location, so if you are going to shop there, grab the coupons off the front of the circular (if you plan to spend at least $50.00)
$3.77 - each portions of Atlantic Salmon (doesn't say how big "portions" are, so this is iffy)
$3.99 - lb Medium Raw Shrimp
$0.99 - lb Pork Picnic Roast
$1.99 - lb 5 lb bag of Red Delicious Apples (limit 2, with coupon on circular)
$1.47 - lbs Albertsons Butter
-Also, if you buy 4 participating Betty Crocker items (and there is a great selection) for $6.00, you get a FREE lb of Albertsons butter.. great if you have some baking to do (I hear a GIANT cookie exchange this weekend calling my name!)

$1.47 - lb mixed bone in Pork Chops (this isn't bad.. gets better occasionally)

Get a FREE gallon of milk when you buy 3 participating Kellogg's Cereal/Keebler Cookies or Crackers
