Sunflower Double Ad Wednesday Preview

Ahhh, Thanksgiving. Groceries' big day to shine.
As always, Sunflower Market is here with fabulous deals to make sure we don't cook our goose when buying our turkey (so-to-speak.)

Last week's ad had some great buys including that cheap-o b/s chicken breast (yes, I know you will have leftover turkey for a while, but stock up for the freezer - you will be happy you did when the turkey is a memory and chicken breast is a rip off.)

And in what is kind of a bummer (no different ad overlapping for new sales) it appears that last week's ad is good through December 2nd. What does this mean? Well, it means you have plenty of time to horde chicken, I guess.

It also means I am pretty much done with this post, eh?

Weekender

It's the weekend. or almost, anyway. I don't know about you, but I am already lost in making plans for it, though it is only Thursday now. Personally, I will be alloting a great deal of time to getting up our Christmas decorations, since I have several gatherings planned at The TreeHouse the week after Thanksgiving. Also, I believe The Hub and I will be checking out Caveau Wine Bar to make use of a GC we recieved. (YAY FREE DATE! )

Meanwhile, around town:

11/20- Thirty-three (and a half) years ago my parents got a real 2 for 1 special when the adoption agency called to tell them to come and meet Dr. Sissy and me, and it has been wacky family perfection ever since. So I am a big fan of celebrating National Adoption Day - and Greenwood Community Church is having a wonderful family-oriented event to mark the occasion this year. Full of activities for the kids, treats, and music, the free event runs from 6:30-8:30 pm. Get event and location info here.

Hot Tip on Mr Potatohead

This from the very deal-savvy Tena:

Toys R Us is having another doorbuster sale this weekend (Fri night/Sat morning) with Mr./Mrs. Potatohead for $3.99. I don't know that TRU takes coupons but Target does, so you could do price matching and use the $2 off coupon here to get a final price of $1.99.

Good Company, Free Meal.

Each third Thursday of the month, St Philip and St James Episcopal Church opens its doors to the community to host a free dinner at 6pm. The meal offers a chance to meet new people or catch up with old friends in your community and enjoy good food, good company, and gracious hosts. (No preaching etc, here folks - just a chance to connect.)
The Church is located at 2797 S. Lowell Blvd. Call 303-936-3922 for more information.

Stolen Moment, Honeybaked Ham Coupons!

Grocery Circular highlights

A few things very much worth mentioning in the grocery ads this week!

Albertsons:
Follow me here, because I usually don't approve of "if you spend a certain amount" kind of deals, but this one is worth it because of some other good deals available, imo...
$0.35 lb - Honeysuckle Turkeys - if you spend $25.00, limit 1.
$1.77 lb - b/s Chicken Breasts (10 cents more an lb than Sunflower, but if it gets you just to $25.00 for the turkey, it might be worth it.)
$1.49 lb - Assorted Pork Loin Chops
50% off McCormick Spices
$0.77 - PictSweet frozen veggies, 14-16 oz packages (limit 6)
$0.99 lb -Asparagus
$10.00 - for 4 12 packs of Coke products when you buy 4, limit 1 reward per transaction
Also, look for the Buy One Get TWO free coupon for Bar S Bacon on the front of the circular!

King Soopers:
$11.00 - for 4, 12 packs, mix and and match Pepsi, Coke, and 7Up products (when you buy 4)
$3.00 - for 2, Kroger cheeses - bars, shreds, or slices
$0.99 - lb Cooks Shank Portion Hams
$1.00 - for 2, Kroger Broth

Safeway:
eh, I am hard pressed to find anything REALLY exciting.. you tell me if I am wrong.

BTW - all the stores have at least 1 kind of turkey on sale for $0.99 lb, and if you are a Safeway shopper and you do spend 10 bucks there this week, you can get a Safeway brand turkey (up to 16lbs) for $5.88 - if you are going to shop there anyway.

Also, this from the lovely Tena:
"There is a coupon available at Couponsurfer.com for $2 off a butterball turkey. I know some grocery stores in the Denver area (Kings?) are having a sale on them this week."
