SF Market Double Ad Wednesday

It is Double Ad Wednesday at SF Market!!
Sorry about the late mention - alas my sweet baby pooch had a little "uncontrolled barfing incident" and I spent yesterday taking care of him and wrangling him at the Vet's office.

He is on the mend, so back to cheap shopping, ok?

Today is the last day to take advantage of 10 for a buck (that's right $1.00) ears of sweet corn (1st 10 only, but that is 10 ears in your fridge for only one dollar OOP - additional ears are 5 for $1.00, which is still not bad!)

Also tomatoes on the vine for $0.69 lb, and lots of great 2 for $1.00 veggie deals!

This week's ad also has some great produce prices (mmm, cherries,) so check out both adds here and shop to save at SF Market's Double Ad Wednesday!

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of To Kill A Mockinbird

"I think there's just one kind of folks. Folks."
-Scout Finch

This evening at the Tattered Cover LoDo, some of the talented players from DCPA will be giving a reading from To Kill A Mockingbird (starting at 6:30) in celebration of the 5oth anniversary of the book's publication.
I am bias - I adore this book - so saying that I think this is just SUPER cool kind of goes without saying.
Anyway, check it out.

Weekender - 4th of July-a-poolza ed.

Woo HOOOOOOOO - Three Day Weekend!!
Time to celebrate the birth of our country by spending an extra day away from work trying to avoid drunken idiots who think home fireworks are actually a good idea (hint, they aren't...) Put down the (widely illegal) sparkler -in a bucket of water - before you burn my building down and go enjoy all the fun and frugal activities happening around town this weekend!

7/2 - It is First Friday in Denver's art districts, with lots great 'hoods to choose from. Go here for a good list of them. (This is from last year's arts week, but all the districts do First Friday too!)
________________________________
7/3 - Need. More. Art. No problem!! Saturday is a free general admission day at the Denver Art Museum !! Tickets are available starting at 10 am when they open. DAM Website (heh heh).

7/3 - Start your fireworks off a night early with Civic Center Sounds - Independence Eve. This free concert will feature patriotic favorites performed by the Colorado Symphony, along with lights and fireworks. the show starts at 8:30 in Civic Center Park downtown.

________________________________

7/3-7/5 -Always at favorite of our house, The Cherry Creek Arts Festival runs in the Cherry Creek North Shopping district Saturday- Monday. Admission is free, although I find it hard to resist grabbing at least one frosty adult beverage to sip as we wander from vendor to vendor, taking in art from all over the world (artists compete big time to come to this popular festival.) There is also plenty of free entertainment, and (my favorite) a line up of Culinary Arts demos as well - go here to get a complete rundown of events and other info.
________________________________

7/4 - Olde Town Arvada hosts its annual 4th of July festival at the Stenger/Lutz Complex starting at 3pm and lasting through the town's fireworks display at dusk. the festival features all of your festival faves, some free, some for a price. Go here to get all the details.

_______________________________

7/4 - OR, head for 4 Mile Park and their Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration. Historical figures from throughout our nation's history will make appearances, there will be musical performances and other family friendly fun as well. You can also tour the 4 Mile House Museum and see how past residents of our area celebrated Independence Day! Here is their website for more info.
________________________________
7/4 - Now for me July 4th means hanging out on the patio of the Treehouse for a perfect view of many displays/comforting Potter when the BOOMS from the closer shows freak him out. But if you want to head out and be so close you can feel the embers, here is a great list of fireworks events across Colorado.

Hot Tip on Pizzacicles!

Hot Tip from the lovely Ann:
Red Barron Frozen Pizzas are $2.88 at Walmart right now. (If you are anti Walmart, then you can disregard this post, eh?)

I don't know about you, but I have some Red Barron coupons in my binder right now that will make these even cheaper!!
Thanks Ann!

I know, I have been MIA, but look, a present for you!

I know I have been a big slacker this week. If the old saying "Shit Happens" is true, then it has been a happenin' week in Keri-land, that is for sure!

Anyhoo, lookie loo what I have to make up for it:
Coupons for Sunflower Market
I didn't even look at the circular on double ad Wednesday this week (Gasp - oh Keri! Shocking!) so it is nice to get a little something extra, eh? Blueberries, anyone?

Are you Biennial-ing?
