Weekenders 5/15 - 5/17

May 11- 17th - Beer snobs rejoice; it is American Craft Beer Week!! Celebrate with the Microbreweries (we have more than any other state, FYI) around Colorado by taking a tour and sampling a quaff, or attending one of the many events going on all week and through the weekend. Saturday 5/16 - the 5 points Jazz festival is a great way to kick of the summer, enjoy some great music in one of Denver's most historic (but thriving) neighborhoods... If you are the "bookish" type, stop by the Blair Caldwell Library for a lecture on the history of Jazz too - they are running several that day.

Saturday 5/16 - Denver Montclair International School hosts its International Bash Spring Carnival and Street Fair at the school's campus, 206 Red Cross Way, in the Lowry neighborhood.

Attendance is free, and there will be demonstrations and live music. Tickets for rides and other activities are available for a small cost. See their website for all the details.

Saturday 5/16 - MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) Consignment sale - these are always popular, for buyers and sellers alike! All things kiddo are avaliable - see their website for a list of things you can expect to find and more information.

Saturday 5/16 - It is the Erie Town Fair and Balloon Festival!! If you are an early bird, you can see the launch at 6am (location here) but even if you aren't up at the crack of dawn, you can still enjoy the Town Fair all day! Get all the info at the Erie Chamber of Commerce website

"Belmar Shopping District in Lakewood is hosting its fifth anniversary celebration this weekend. Many of the retailers are offering special discounts and having sidewalk sales today through Sunday.
On Saturday from 12 pm until 5 pm, there will be a family-friendly summer kick-off celebration in The Plaza at Belmar. This free event will include music, food, face painting, balloon sculptures, fortune telling, fashion tips, art and photo displays, chef demos, give aways and more.

Belmar is also hosting a "Clear Your Closet Clothing Drive" benefiting the Boy Scouts of America with special needs. Bring your slightly used clothing and small household items to donate and receive a special discount at local retailers.

Sunday 5/17 - Thank you lovely Amanda for this Hot Tip: the RiNo (River North Art District) is hosting a Third Sunday Open Studio Tour and Brunch from 10am - 3pm!! Start at the RiNo Party Tent for a map, grab some pancakes and explore this blossoming and booming neighborhood! This Sunday's tour includes locations on the East side of the Light Rail tracks (technically Upper Larimer) and another event on Father's Day spotlights locations West of the tracks.
