Weekender

Howdy, Dealers.. are we all excited for the weekend? I know I am!! I hope tonight will involve Pizza, wine, and my sofa - because the rest of the weekend is jam-packed with activities and prep for the installation of our new kitchen counters this coming week (it's a love affair, my kitchen and me).

Looking for something fun and frugal to do this weekend? Read on:

It is a free admission weekend at America's National Parks, so pack up the front wheel drive fun-wagon and head out for a picnic or some hiking (or even explore Mesa Verde for FREE!) this weekend if getting out of the city is on your agenda. Check here for a list of parks in Colorado.

8/15-8/16 - The Boulder Asian Festival takes place this weekend on the always-a-great time Pearl Street Mall, on the Courthouse lawn. No pets are allowed so leave Fido at home but bring the rest of the family for lots of free performances, art to explore, and and children's area for the kiddos. Pack a picnic or grab something from one of the vendors and make a day of it. More details at their website.

8/15- Definitely not your same-old-every-weekend event, for just $5.00 a carload, you can head into Bear Creek Lake Park near Morrison on Saturday and watch the annual Sand Sculpture contest in full swing. The price of admission also gives you a full day of fun at the lake, so bring swimming suits, a picnic, and your own beach toys to try your hand at a smaller masterpiece - or just watch as these artists construct theirs. More info here.
