Weekender

Woop Woop -WEEKEND!! We are in for some amazingly perfect Colorado weather here in the Mile High City over the next few days, so grab the fam and some sunscreen and get outside or find a great place to get out of the sun - whichever fits your groove better this weekend. Plenty of Fun and Frugal options out there:

6/4-6/6 - It is a free admission weekend in all National Parks - load the car and head for Rocky Mt National or Pack the kids and the road snacks and head out for one of our other awesome parks or monuments, see them all here. For all the info about Free Weekends in the National Parks, go here.

6/4 - It is a free admission day at The Botanic Garden at Chatfield today! What a great place to enjoy the fabulous weather!

6/5-6/6 - It's time for the Capitol Hill Peoples' Fair in Civic Center Park - the first of the two huge festivals that bookend the summer. It isn't one of my faves, but it is a beloved tradition for many Mile High residents. Here is the festival's FB page, and the website of CHUN, which organizes the event each year.

6/4 - It is First Friday in Denver's art districts, with lots great 'hoods to choose from. Go here for a good list of them.

-BTW, if you are looking for something a little different with your First Friday, head for the Golden Triangle and Fashion Denver's "Escape Into a World of Fashion Fantasy." In honor of the launch of their book club (and because playing dress up is fun) dress up as your favorite book character and model your fashion creation for pictures and to be entered into a drawing. Check out their website for all the info.
