  1. My husband and I are actually celebrating on Saturday. We're cooking steaks and crab legs and drinking way too much vino. Valentine's Day will be spent doing a family birthday party!

  2. My hubby and I celebrate love every day, so we're not doing anything special for V-Day. He's going skiing and I'm getting a "couples" massage with my best gal-pal. Yay for a bargain price and quality girl time. :-)

  3. It's not free but the cheapest way to see a ton of home/landscape vendors in one place. The Colorado Garden & Home Show opens at the Convention Center on Saturday. Take your honey and dream big!

  4. Since V-Day is inconveniently on a Sunday this year, I'm making my husband take me out to Valentine's breakfast instead (it is the most important meal of the day, after all).

  6. The Rocky Mountain Kennel Club dog show is this weekend. It's tradition for my dad & I to go, so I'll spend my Saturday morning there! Then just a quiet dinner with the hubs :)

  7. We always go to our favorite Mexican restaurant, Taqueria Patzcuaro, on V-day because it is never crowded or overpriced and it reminds us of our pre-marriage days.

  8. New Sprouts opening down in Castle Rock, so I'm taking advantage of the opening weekend deals (there and Parker), and getting steak and lobster tails to cook for my sweetheart on Saturday night. Can't wait!

  9. The Olympics start tonight! How about cooking at home and watching the opening ceremonies.

  10. We'll be cooking at home for V-day, but I hope to check out the Art Museum and if the weather is nice maybe we'll head to the Denver Zoo! For some reason, the zoo is probably the hubby's favorite activity in Denver, so that is romantic, right?!

  11. Instead of dealing with the crowds this year for V-Day, I think I will make my husband dinner, including salad, cheese fondue and then chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.

And maybe, just maybe, I can get my husband to take me to the Home and Garden Show in downtown Denver.

  13. No matter what’s going on in your world, there’s nothing like chocolate to make things seem a bit better. On Saturday, Feb. 13 you can take a world chocolate tour at the 2nd Annual Travel the World Through Chocolate on S. Havana Street in Aurora. Taste chocolates from around the world for FREE at four sites: World Food Bazaar (242 S. Havana), The English Teacup (1930 S. Havana), Solomon’s Grocery & European Deli (1939 S. Havana) and GNC Live Well Store (at the Gardens on Havana). Sugar-free chocolate will also be available at World Food Bazaar. That candy wizard himself, Willy Wonka, is set to make special appearances at The English Teacup from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and at Solomon’s from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. A professional photographer will be on hand for those who want their picture taken with Mr. Wonka for $5. You can also enter at each of the chocolate tasting sites for a chance to win a Valentine’s Day dinner for two at The Summit Steakhouse ($100 value) and four scrumptious chocolate-filled gift baskets. For information call 303-360-7505.

  14. We will be making spaghetti at home - a tradition of ours. Maybe we will dine by candlelight this year. And no doubt eating some cupcakes.

  16. My husband is always in Philadelphia over Valentine's Weekend (as it is also President's Weekend). We will have a date during DRW. But for Valentine's Day I am taking my sweet baby girl to Build a Bear.

  17. Hubby and I will be making chocolate fondue on Sunday with our favorite dippers: pound cake, lady fingers, strawberries, rice krispy treats, and marshmallows! Such a cheap dessert but so fun and romantic =]

  19. Although Frist Friday was last week, there is a free art show at Core New Art called "The Love Show." I haven't seen it yet, but it sounds like a fun date night. More info at http://www.corenewartspace.com/.

As for our Valentine Weekend we're probably getting some of those deal lobster tails you posted about. Oh and doing taxes. ;)
