Celebration Weekender

Happy Birthday to us!! Deals in Denver is one year old today. My how time flies when you're saving money!

There are lots of fun and frugal things to do on our birthday weekend, here are a few ideas:

4/2 - It is Kids' Art Club project day on Fridays at Meininger Art Supply Stores - 4:30 - 5:30 pm. Each week the kiddos can make a new project at no charge - all supplies provided! A parent must remain at the Store to supervise your little one. This week is a cool butterfly project, check it out here.

4/2 - It is First Friday in Denver's art districts, with lots great 'hoods to choose from. Go here for a good list of them.

4/2 -4/3 - The Highlands Ranch Version of the Just Between Friends consignment sale is this Friday and Saturday, with Saturday being a half price sale. All kinds of baby and children's items will be up for sale at great prices - to find out more about JBF sales and get hours and directions, visit their website.

4/3 - Speaking of butterflies, at Home Depot's Kid Workshop this Saturday, you and Jr. can build a butterfly house for your yard or patio. The little ones also get a pint-sized orange Home Depot apron, and an achievement pin. Check out their website for all the information.

4/3-4/4 - Kids under 12 eat free at Qdoba on Saturday and Sunday with a paying adult, which is a great excuse to take the family for a little fiesta! It is never a bad idea to call and ask if your favorite location is participating, but this one is a pretty safe bet.

Easter Egg Hunts!!

*4/3 - Parker - O'Brien Park -10:30 - BYO Basket and be ready for lots of Easter fun. Your child will be able to play games, win prizes and see the Easter Bunny. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture the moment. FREE

*4/3- Highlands Ranch -Northridge Park - 10:00 - BYO Basket - this one is free for HRCA members and $5.00 for program guests. There will be plenty for the kids to do and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Go here for info.

*4/3 - Douglas County - Roxborough Park - 10:00 - BYO Basket, and parents need to pre-register the little hunters by going here. This one is $7.00

*4/3 - Colorado Springs - Bear Creek Nature Center - 10:30 - Little ones will hike with a bunny guide to look for eggs in the Nature Center area, $5.00 for members, $7.00 non-members. Go here for more info and to register.

*4/3 - Denver - Wash Park - 1:00 - It's the First Annual Wash Park Easter Egg Hunt! Tons of Eggs, lots of activities, and Free family pics! Get all the info here. FREE

*4/3 - Denver - DU Humanities Garden - 11:00 - Over 4000 eggs will be hunted and there are different sections for various ages (including adults) - get all the info here.

*4/4 - Copper Mt - Colorado's largest Easter Egg Hunt actually has several different hunts to choose from, along with other activities all day on Sunday - check the full line-up of fun here.

There are several fabulous free Sunrise services to choose from if The Spirit moves you to worship and take in the glory that is Colorado's beauty. (That's free for you to enjoy all the time.)
