Weekender

I don't know about you all, but weekends in February find this mama Busy (with a mandatory capital B!)
Just in case you need some fun and frugal ideas, here are some fabulous activities happening around the Mile High City  (including free admission to one great attraction a day EVERY day this weekend:


2/4 - Friday is a free admission day for Colorado Residents at the Botanic Gardens Chatfield location.

2/4 - It's First Friday in Denver's art districts!!  So take your pick - you can't go wrong - Santa Fe, RiNoThe Golden Triangle, Tennyson StThe Navajo, there are so many to choose from - so pick a new spot or visit an old fave for First Friday this month!

2/5 -  Saturday is a "Free First Saturday" at the Denver Art Museum, featuring free general admission for the whole family.  See their website for info.

2/5 - If your little one is itching to make something special for Valentine's Day - Home Depot's Kids Workshop is the place to be on Saturday!  The project this month is a heart-shaped wall shelf, and your kiddo can build and decorate one for free at Home Depot locations - go here for more information.

2/6 - Sunday is a free admission day for Colorado Residents at the Denver Zoo, so bundle up and head out to say hi to the animals! (Bonus, going DURING that whole "big game" incident might mean less dealing with free-admission-day-crowds.) Here is the zoo website.

2/6 - This month William-Sonoma locations are offering a different free cooking class each Sunday!  First up this weekend is "Meatball Madness" (Other Sundays will be Indian Cooking, Latin Cooking, and Soup for Supper.)  Go to the William-Sonoma website to find the exact time for the class at your nearest location, and to RSVP for the event, as space is limited.

Every Weekend:
Ruby Hill Rail Yard  gives you a chance to ski and board even if you can't get up the hill! This popular Denver snow terrain park also features free equipment rental for kids - get all the details and location here.

Fridays - Same old Friday night Happy Hour got ya down? Looking for a healthy way to unwind and get your weekend started? YOU GOT IT! Thanks to Luluemon stores (like our location in Cherry Creek) who offer free Friday evening yoga events each week! Here is the info for this week's class. (oh look, there IS wine and chat afterwards. In yoga AND in life, balance is important.) There are locations in Boulder and Lone Tree as well, see the website for details.

Fridays -Friday Night Live at Tony's Market Bistro is a fabulous way to enjoy some VERY reasonably priced drinks along with live music from 6p.m.-9p.m. Friday evening, and their rotating list of happy hour bites is always a step above your normal bar nosh! See here for current info.

Saturdays- Amendment XXI in LoHi does free wine tastings every Saturday from 3pm-7pm. You can go here to get directions and subscribe to their mailing list so you can get info on upcoming tasting selections.

Saturdays - Craving your farmer's market fix?  Good news, My Favorite FM is open year round! Denver Urban Homesteading's Market -Saturdays 9am-2pm. (The DUH farmer's market is also open Wed, Thur, Fri 1-6, too!)
