What's up around town this weekend?

1/7 - It's First Friday in Denver's art districts!!  So take your pick - you can't go wrong - Santa Fe, RiNo,  The Golden Triangle, Tennyson St,  The Navajo, there are so many to choose from - so pick a new spot or visit an old fave for First Friday this month!

1/7 - Shakta Yoga Studio in the Santa Fe district is getting in on the First Friday fun as well - you can browse their gallery, shop their consignment store, and join in on $10.00 yoga classes on Friday from 6pm-9pm. Find more about the studio here.

1/8 - It's no secret that I LOVE the National Western Stock Show - it is my favorite event every year, and that love affair started when I was just a little buckeroo going to the Stock Show with my family.  If you have a feeling your cowpoke will feel the same way, then stop by any  Guaranty Bank location and pick up vouchers good for free children's grounds admission anytime between January 8-14.  Check out the Stock Show website for more information about this offer, and all the family fun going on at the Stock Show!

1/8 -  Ruby Hill Rail Yard opens for the season on Saturday, giving you a chance to ski and board even if you can't get up the hill! This popular terrain park will also feature free equipment rental for kids starting next weekend - get all the details and location here.

1/8 - Lowes Build and Grow clinic this week offers the kiddies a chance to make a box full of games!  The materials and the guidance for building the project are all free, so find a location here and register - I bet your family will get hooked on these great clinics!

1/8- In the mood for a classic movie? The Tattered Cover offers a free showing of The Browning Version on Saturday beginning at 7pm at their Colfax location (2510 E. Colfax Ave.)

Every Weekend:

 Outdoor skating is back in Downtown Denver - and it is FREE!!! (Well, if you have skates.) The rink at Skyline Park is open for the season through January 31st.  It is free to skate, and skate rental, if needed, is only 2 bucks! Go here to get info on hours, and also bookmark the site as they will be offering free skate rental days for the little ones throughout the season! (Much cheaper than the Belmark rink's prices - or One Boulder Plaza for that matter - though you can skate as long as you like there for the cost of admission.) Fridays - Same old Friday night Happy Hour got ya down? Looking for a healthy way to unwind and get your weekend started? YOU GOT IT! Thanks to Luluemon stores (like our location in Cherry Creek) who offer free Friday evening yoga events each week! Here is the info for this week's class. (oh look, there IS wine and chat afterwards. In yoga AND in life, balance is important.) There are locations in Boulder and Lone Tree as well, see the website for details.

Fridays -Friday Night Live at Tony's Market Bistro is a fabulous way to enjoy some VERY reasonably priced drinks along with live music from 6p.m.-9p.m. Friday evening, and their rotating list of happy hour bites is always a step above your normal bar nosh! See here for current info.

Saturdays - Craving your farmer's market fix?  Good news, My Favorite FM is open year round! Denver Urban Homesteading's Market -Saturdays 9am-2pm. (The DUH farmer's market is also open Wed, Thur, Fri 1-6, too!)
