It's the weekend! I confess, I will probably spend mine relaxing on the sofa and gazing at the twinkly lights on our tree - but that doesn't mean there aren't lots of fun activities that won't break the bank happening this weekend!
12/3-12/4 - Ooooo, it's Parade of Lights weekend!!! Time to bundle the kiddos and head downtown for this Denver holiday tradition. The parade kicks off at 8pm on Friday and 6pm on Saturday - go here to get the parade route and for more details on this great free family event!

12/3 - Santa will be flying into Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (Jeffco to those of us who grew up near there,) at 6pm on Friday in a helicopter (reindeer are resting up for "the big show" - you understand.) He will visit with the kiddos and hear all their Christmas wishes. There will be snacks and cocoa and activities for the whole family. 12/3 - It's First Friday in Denver's art districts!! So take your pick - you can't go wrong - Santa Fe, RiNo, The Golden Triangle, Tennyson St, The Navajo, there are so many to choose from - so pick a new spot or visit an old fave for First Friday this month!

12/4-12/5 - Bank of America Card holder? If you are, you have free access to over 70 museums, zoos and other cultural highlights around the state (and the country) the first weekend of each month. (Good for the cardholder only.) Go here to find a participating museum.

12/4 - There is lots of family fun to be had at the Winter Market and Holiday Fair in The Highlands on Saturday from 10am-3pm, and you can get some shopping done too! Check out the Facebook Page and Website for lots of information about all the fun free things you can do!

12/4 - Home Depot's Kids Workshop this weekend features a great winter picture frame (perfect gift for your little one to make and give to grandparents, perhaps?) The workshops run ongoing from 9am - noon -visit the website for more information on these great free crafting opportunities!

12/4 - OR if the frame doesn't tickle your kiddo's building fancy, head for Lowes website to sign up for a spot at your local store and he or she can build a free wooden train locomotive to take home instead! In the coming weeks your tike can return for future Build and Grow clinics that will feature the rest of the train!
Every Weekend:
Outdoor skating is back in Downtown Denver - and it is FREE!!! (Well, if you have skates.) The rink at Skyline Park opens Friday November 26 with a kickoff party, and will remain open through January 31st. It is free to skate, and skate rental, if needed, is only 2 bucks! (Much cheaper than the Belmark rink's prices!) Go here to get info on hours, and also bookmark the site as they will be offering free skate rental days for the little ones throughout the season! *** This Saturday morning from 8am -10am there will be free skating lessons on the rink for little ones!!**

Fridays - Same old Friday night Happy Hour got ya down? Looking for a healthy way to unwind and get your weekend started? YOU GOT IT! Thanks to Luluemon stores (like our location in Cherry Creek) who offer free Friday evening yoga events each week! Here is the info for this week's class. (oh look, there IS wine and chat afterwards. In yoga AND in life, balance is important.) There are locations in Boulder and Lone Tree as well, see the website for details.
